The Quietist
I saw no angst in the ocean,
The black depth,
I saw no trouble in the sky,
The azure ether.
I saw almost nothing in the magma,
Primordial bore.
I saw nothing of value in all,
As its ocean, sky and magma,
Nothing more.
I am carbon.
What more should need be known?
I spoke that question and smiled.
And so it was answered,
And so it goes,
And so The Quietest went.
'The Quietist' is selected from a new collection of poetry by Graham Thomas called 'Acts As Bold As Love'. This collection should be available in print, digital and audio sometime later in 2025. So keep 'em peeled.
